Assisted Reproductive Technologies Program

Many patients become pregnant following simple drug therapy or following a surgical procedure. For those who require more advanced medical treatment, GRS offers a full range of effective treatment options for both men and women, including Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).

ART treatment options include in vitro fertilization and other procedures using laboratory techniques designed to improve fertilization of the female egg and male sperm, as well as maturation and implantation of embryos (fertilized eggs) in the womb.

ART procedures often involve well-coordinated administration of infertility medications and clinical procedures to achieve pregnancy. While these procedures may be more complex than first-line treatment, such as simple drug therapy, GRS has achieved high pregnancy success rates by effectively combining patient-centered medical care and the latest laboratory technologies.

Your infertility diagnosis is an important first step in achieving success. At GRS, our infertility specialists apply the latest technologies and procedures to accurately diagnose the problem, including ovarian reserve screening and sperm chromatin structural assays (SCSA) to thoroughly evaluate each patient.

Based on your diagnosis, your GRS physician will talk with you and recommend the assisted reproductive technology procedure that best fits your individual needs and, ultimately, gives you the best possible chance of having a baby.

40% of infertility is due to male factor, and 40% to female disorders. Approximately one in five couples will experience unexplained infertility, despite completing a full infertility work-up. One-third of infertility cases are attributed to both partners.

Depending upon your diagnosis, infertility is often overcome using advanced techniques including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted hatching, and egg donation. Recent advances such as blastocyst culture and transfer and micro-surgical sperm aspiration are enabling us to achieve higher pregnancy success rates, lower multiple pregnancy rates and enable men with no sperm in their ejaculate to father children. As advanced fertility treatment technologies continue to develop, possibilities become realities, allowing more couples to build the family of their dreams.

An important factor in our success for our patients is the quality of our laboratory scientists, including embryology pioneer Michael Tucker, Ph.D. Our scientists and embryologists are experts in assisted reproductive techniques and have helped thousands of infertile couples achieve their dream of conceiving a child. By combining experience and scientific accuracy with flexible, individualized patient care, the laboratory staff has achieved excellent results through the application of ART techniques.
