Endometriosis

Are birth control pills usually prescribed to 16 year old girls because there she is considered a canidate for having endometriosis?

Answer:
Absolutely. If your pain is not controlled after a three month trial of birth control pills and a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent such as ibuprofen or Aleve, you may wish to consider a laparoscopic test to see if endometriosis is present.
