New Appointments FAQ

Once you have made the decision to seek the opinion of a fertility specialist, the first step is to schedule an initial infertility consultation appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist. Because we understand that seeking treatment in a new practice and meeting a new physician can cause anxiety, at GRS we do all we can to help things go smoothly for you. You will find comfort in knowing that our experienced staff is available to help support you every step of the way.

The first appointment at GRS is a very important one and we encourage both partners to attend. During the first appointment, you will meet your physician to discuss your medical history and, based on initial information, some tests may be performed. The most successful initial consultations occur when your physician knows as much information as possible about your medical history and prior tests or treatments. We encourage our patients to be open with their physician and to become an active participant in their healthcare. You will also meet a nurse who will be the one to review medication details and additional tests that need to be performed, based on the initial test results, during follow-up visits.

Because we want you to receive maximum benefit from your initial meeting with our practice, we encourage you to address a few important issues before you arrive.

  • Ensure you obtain the appropriate referrals or authorizations before treatment is initiated.
  • Please obtain a copy of all of your medical records relating to infertility and have them available for your physician at the time of your first appointment.
  • Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a welcome packet from GRS. You can also download the forms here:
Please complete all paperwork prior to your arrival in our office.
  • It is important to understand your insurance coverage and to follow the referral guidelines set forth by your insurance company. When scheduling your initial appointment, one of our patient liaisons will be available to walk you through the referral/insurance maze to help ensure you obtain the appropriate referrals or authorizations before treatment is initiated.
